ALL-STAR INFORMATION

As in previous seasons, Managers and Coaches will be responsible with constructing All-Star teams. However, due to the amount of cancellations that have occurred this season for the Minor-A and Minor-B divisions, the Managers, Coaches and HLL Board have decided that it would be best to hold a Tryout/Evaluation Session.


Mandatory All-Star Tryout/Evaluation
Players League Age 7 – 10.

Date: Sunday, June 4th
Time: 4pm – 6pm (or longer if needed)
Location: Markley Park

Players must wear their HLL Team Jersey which will be used to help identify players. Dress as if playing a game (baseball pants, cleats, protective cup, all equipment).

  • For players wishing to be considered for the following All-Star Teams.
    • 7-8 Year Old Team
    • 9-10 Year Old Team
      Note: Little League – League Age is used.

  • Players unable to attend but still wishing to be considered for selection to one of the teams will need to submit, in writing a letter indicating the planned absence and any supporting documentation verifying the absence. This letter (plus documentation) is due by the day of the Tryout/Evaluation (June 4th).

All-Star Team Commitments

  • Upon selection to a team, players and parents should understand and expect the following.
  • Player Attendance
    • Players are expected to be at all practices, games and other team functions.
      • While HLL Regular Season is still occurring, expect practices on nights there are no games.
      • Once HLL Regular Season ends, expect practice to be held every day.
    • Parents are expected to be at all team/parent meetings.
    • Practices, team meetings, and other team functions will be scheduled by the Manager of the team.
    • District Tournaments (all dates and locations tentative).
      • 12 Year Olds: July 16 – 23 (Munster)
      • 11 Year Olds: July 10 – 16 (Munster)
      • 9-10 Year Olds: July 10 – 16 (Dyer)
      • 7-8 Year Olds: July 20 – 25 (LoT Tourney)
    • State Tournaments (all dates and locations tentative).
      • 12 Year Olds: July 26 – 31 (District 8 – Plainfield)
      • 11 Year Olds: July 20 – 25 (District 8 – Plainfield)
      • 9-10 Year Olds: July 20 – 25 (District 9 – Wabash)
    • Costs
      • All costs are the responsibility of the parents. These costs will include the following:
      • Uniforms (Estimated $75 – $135, TBD).
      • Travel and Lodging.
        • District Tournaments will be held in Northwest Indiana, and team will commute daily to the Host Site.
        • State Tournaments (locations TBD) will likely require overnight stays for the duration of the tournament.

Highland Little League reserves the right to change the date, time or cancel the Tryout/Evaluation. All-Star Teams can be constructed without the Tryout/Evaluation if necessary. Please direct any questions or concerns to an HLL Board Member.
